Second house: how to register for water and electricity?

Recommended Posts

My (Thai) wife built the second house on a different land plot.

She has a registered address (blue tabian baan) on first house/first land plot.

At the PEA they asked for the blue tabian baan with the address of the second house/second land plot in order to register.

Same at the MWA.

But it's not possible to have two tabian baans for a person with two different addresses.

Strange was that the staff in both offices could not offer any solutions as there must be many many more people who are in the similiar position as my wife.

Could someone (please only the ones with the same setup (two houses on two different land plots; with already one tabian baan on first house)) recommend another legal approach how to solve this problem.

Thanks.

Rob

It's very possible to have a tabien bahn for more than one house, so just go and get a tabien bahn for the new house. Yes, it's correct that your wife cannot be registered in more than one tabien bahn, but that doesn't mean that she cannot get a tabien bahn for the new house. It just means that no-one will be registered as living there.

A new address needs it's own title deed.

One title deed with ten houses means one meter each for both electricity and water, and it is up to the land owner to distribute thereafter.

Sorry, but how is this relevant to the question? It's clear from the OP that the two houses are built on different plots, so there will be two different deeds.

Its possible to have as many blue books as you want but only registered at one address. One chanote can still aquire a number of blue books and separate meters. The OP needs to get a blue book for the 2nd property, regardless if wife lives there or its on the same chanote. Tessabhan is first port of call. Building permit will be required.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks to every one for their most valuable input.

After the wedding of my father next week we will go to our tessaban, as suggested.

I will keep you informed in around one and a half week.

Thanks again.

Best regards,

Rob

That was easy.

As already suggested above, the tessaban office issued the second tabian (for the second land plot with second house on it) ban without her name included.

Thanks to every one. I appreciate your most helpful input.
