Best US$ to Baht exchange rate in town?

Featured Replies

Have a buddy inbound who typically brings a wedge of c-notes and smaller bills. He used to keep tabs on what exchange booths were best but it's been a year since his last visit. I heard Yenjit down in WS was good and also the ones with the yellow sign with several locations around the town.

Any updates?

Thanks!

Basically no update.

"TT Exchange" is hardly beaten.

Avoid banks.

It's just that in the meantime a couple of other booths have come up with the same rates.

Differences are in the 5 Satang range (0.05 Baht).

Countless booths around town. No need for long walks or even investing 10 Baht for the bus.

Soi Diana, Soi Buakhao seldom more than 100 m (yards) from one booth to the next.

TT Exchange rate yesterday 36.22 Baht for USD.

Best rate yesterday in Bangkok: 36.28 (for 100 Dollar notes).

50 and 100 Dollar notes give a better rate, preferred.

Avoid 1 to 20 Dollar notes.

Always better to have clean notes, no dog-ears, no scribbling.

Might otherwise be refused.

Thanks chaps. I will tell him to stick with TT unless he wants to do the extra legwork himself.

For my own improvement, what are "c-notes", 100 Dollar notes?

From Roman "C" = 100?
