King had fever for the past two weeks but fever has now eased

BANGKOK: -- His Majesty the King had fever occasionally during the past two weeks with more saliva and phlegm although his pulse and blood pressure remain normal, said the Bureau of Royal Household in its 19th statement.

The statement said that HM the King had fast breathing and oxygen level in blood was occasionally below normal. X-ray tests showed inflammation of the lower section of the lung and inflammation of the right knee. Blood test showed inflammation.

Doctors administered anti-bioltics intravenously and medicine to dissolve phlegm as well as oxygen.

The statement said that latest X-ray of the chest did not show any sign of inflammation although inflammation of the knee has eased.

On January 5, doctors asked HM the King for computerized X-ray test which showed minor inflammation of the left lung. Anti-biotics and oxygen were administered.

HM the King’s fever has eased although breathing is slightly faster than normal while pulse and blood pressure remain normal, said the statement.

Ministry of Transport set to expand transportation routes throughout 2016

BANGKOK, 11 January 2016 (NNT) - The Ministry of Transport has set plans to continuously construct transportation routes in 2016. The construction of the Bang Yai – Kanchanaburi motorway is expected to begin in June this year.

Trainings for SMEs in Special Economic Zones to take place

BANGKOK, 11 January 2015 (NNT) – The Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) is set to provide competitiveness enhancement trainings to SME entrepreneurs in 12 Special Economic Zones, in hope of attracting more investment.


The Network of Engineering Services (NES) Chief Wasin Mahatnirankul has revealed the DIP will be providing competitiveness enhancement activities to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the establishment of Special Economic Zones in Thailand.

The training, overseen by the NES, will encourage SME entrepreneurs to benefit from operating in the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) to enhance their organizations, as well as efficiently connecting with big scale industries from Thailand and foreign countries that may be investing in SEZ.

Registration to attendance is now open on the website www.gotoAEC.com from today to 27 January 2016. Attendance to the activity is free of charge.

The establishment of SEZ in Thailand is part of the economic strategy, spearheaded by the government, to encourage border trade and investment in border areas with great economic potential.

Maj-Gen Sansern says government has no money to subsidize rubber price

BANGKOK: -- The government does not have enough money to subsidize the price of rubber sheets at 50-60 baht/kg and wants southern rubber farmers to refrain from protesting to put pressure on the government, said government spokesman Maj-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Sunday.

Tourist hiker dead at Dyatlov Pass - another mystery death?
