webfact Posted January 10, 2016 Share Posted January 10, 2016 CDC spokesman confident draft charter will be ready this weekBANGKOK, 11 January 2016 (NNT) - A spokesman for the Constitution Drafting Commission is confident that the first draft of the new Constitution will be ready within the week.CDC spokesman Chatchai Na Chiang Mai, said on Sunday that the charter drafters are nearly finished drafting the new Constitution as there remain only a few articles which need to be concluded and added.Mr. Chatchai said that, at the upcoming retreat, the CDC has planned its discussions in two parts, with the first part to be dedicated to the reading of every article in order to allow all members to be informed of all details and share any ideas they may have.As for the second part of the proposed new Constitution, he said that the charter drafters will work on all new elements which are intended to ensure that Thailand will not experience a repeat of political conflicts while promoting transparency and good governance.Mr. Chatchai is certain that, by the end of the week, the details of the first draft of the new charter will be ready, while the people will get to see what has been included in it on January 29 as planned.-- NNT 2016-01-11 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The new turd is coming this week... how exciting. It does look like they are saving "the good stuff" for last. This CDC has been more circumspect with details than the previous lot. We can only speculate at this point. If someone releases an English translated version, I will read it. I am especially interested to see if the role of the military in Thailand is well defined.
