Hi Peoples.

I have a 12 month retirement visa. Every year I go through the process filling in the forms, copy bank papers, lady friends house book etc.

Now I hear about a TM 30 form which she has to complete every time I leave town, even for 1 night.

What is the story, the immigration already have a copy of her house book with every years retirement visa renewal. I understand this form has been around for at least 14 years, but is only now being enforced. Can anyone shed some light on this?

As Joe said. I recently did my marriage extension in Khon Kaen and never having completed a TM30 in 18 years took one this time just in case. While I was sitting outside the immigration office I overheard an officer telling the Thai " helper" of a French guy next to me that they required a TM30 and there was an 800 baht fine for private citizens and a 10000 baht fine for hotels etc if they didn't show one. Resigning myself to a fine I went through the extension process and at the end the officer asked if I had a TM30. I handed it over and got a slip no mention of a fine. I was a bit concerned because my wife had dated I'd been currently residing at our place since 2014 which was when we returned from our last trip outside Thailand and I thought the officer might question why we hadn't reported upon my return but no mention was made. I asked the officer if I had to fill out a new form every time I returned to our house after staying away. She said no.
