A protest outside of the Capitol Tours bus company office near Orussey Market turned violent yesterday morning. Approximately 45 drivers fired from the company last July were protesting and demanding their jobs back when men who appeared to be motorbike and tuk-tuk drivers tried to pull them back, causing a fight to break out, according to Ean Kimhun, one of the drivers.

At least five drivers were injured, mostly with head injuries and at least one broken arm, Mr. Kimhun said. He believes the company brought the unidentified men in to fight with the drivers in front of the bus company office. The general manager of Capitol Bus Tours could not be reached yesterday to respond to this accusation. However, the company’s lawyer, Kheiu Van, rejected the accusation, saying, “If the protesters do not damage the company’s property and the protesters don’t walk inside and make it hard to move the buses, the company doesn’t care about them.”
