Another train derails

BANGKOK: -- A Mahachai-Wongwien Yai passenger train derailed this morning but no passenger was injured.

The No 4320 train left Wongwien Yai station for Maha Chai in Samut Sakhon province at 07.15 am when the last carriage of the five jumped off the tracks in front of Wat Rajaorot temple a few minutes after departure.

The derailment forced the State Railways of Thailand to suspend the service from Wongwien Yai to Mahachai until the derailed carriage could be put back on the tracks which is expected at 1 pm.

SRT said it was looking into the cause of the incident.

It was the fourth train derailment in a month.

And they're going to go with high speed trains????

Reminds me of that joke during the Falklands crisis when Exocet missiles were being fired at British navy ships.

What's the difference between British Rail and an Exocet missile.

British Rail kills people!

How boring. Every day the same

SRT said it was looking into the cause of the incident.

SRT found there was no amulet on the train

Wow....

Please God....Help this country.

The lack.

The lack of a mix between Western and Thai leadership will never happen.

Why is there so much Chinese?

Same as Dubai.

A holiday country where control can be bought.

"SRT said it was looking into the cause of the incident."

Hmmmm. Poor maintenance and 100 year old trains are the cause. Wow, I broke a sweat looking into the cause.

It has seemed like a while since last report of derailment. I was beginning to wonder. Good to have faith in Thai Rail restored.

Maybe this has something to do with Thai Maintenance ?They ,as usually don't give us the Whole story,,,,Why Post ?

4th derailment this month.

They have some work to do if they want to break the previous record of 12.

I think it has to do with the draught, the soil is sinking now. Also many roads are getting big cracks.

how boring...every day same report

In 2014 there were 103 train derailments in Thailand.

On New Years Eve, 2011 at the Korat train station I helped a worker replace a brake shoe on a Nong Khai bound train, while three other workers sat on the sidelines and did nothing.

In 2014 there were 103 train derailments in Thailand.

With some luck we can make it 75 this year and the good general will then on Friday during giving Happiness to the Thai People that Thailand is on the right track.

Yes as long as the Chinese operate them and do the track maintenance. Thailand has enough speed, yaba the last thing they need are high speed trains.

That's an experience that train. Been on it. Actually I think it's the most rickity train I have been on.
