BANGKOK: -- For those who have developed a loathing for Bangkok taxi drivers, here's a story that might change your mind.

Taxi driver Suwannachat Phromchat has recently found online fame for his humanitarian efforts in helping people, posting video after video of him carrying sick passengers from their beds to his taxi.

"If you have a doctor’s appointment, book me. For the poor who don't have money or cars, or for the rich whose children are not free to take them, I'm happy to give you a free round-trip ride in Bangkok and nearby provinces," Suwannachat captioned every video.

And when did he start doing this service? Was it before or after the drunk cabbie punched the copper or the cabbie that robbed and possibly assulted the American woman last week. If before good on him. If after, than it's simply a deflection. If he received an award last year for his good deeds why was it not newsworthy then, but all of a sudden newsworthy.

It doesn't matter when he started offering free rides, that is an irrelevance as is the rest of your post.

His award last year did make the press, you just claim not to have seen it in order to have a go at him. Why?

Strangely enough every time there is negative press about Thailand taxi drivers as was the case last week we suddenly get the taxi driver returns wallet and taxi driver gives free rides propaganda in order to try and make people forget about how Thai taxi drivers really are. That's why.

One good driver still does not change my mind and actions of the other driver that are making a BIGGER NEGATIVE impact on their peers. But glad there are drivers like this who are above normal and doing community service. I have faith in him as a Thai but not taxi drivers yet.

On a business point of view, its a good PR for him to get his taxi service booked, win win for him and the society. Other taxi drivers should take note.
