Israeli forces kill three Palestinians in West bank in latest round of violence

JERUSALEM: -- Israeli soldiers have shot dead three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank including one the military said had tried to stab a soldier.

In recent months a wave of Palestinians stabbings, car rammings and shooting attacks have killed 24 Israelis. Over 140 Palestinian have been killed by Israeli forces as tensions between the two sides continue to simmer.

Rights groups have accused Israel of using excessive force to quell the unrest and Sweden has called for an investigation.

The surge in violence has been fuelled by the 2014 collapse of U.S.-sponsored peace talks, the growth of Jewish settlements on land Palestinians want for a state and Islamist calls for the destruction of Israel.

Also stoking the violence has been Muslim opposition to increased Israeli visits to Jerusalem’s al Aqsa mosque complex, which is the third holiest site in Islam and is also revered in Judaism as the location of two biblical temples.

The IDF are the occupiers/invaders. The Palestinian they shot was resisting an almost 50 year occupation. Who knows what the other two extra judicially killed were doing...perhaps the rigorous coroner's investigation will tell us.

Israel....end these atrocities, end the occupation, make peace with your neighbors and join the family of civilized modern democracies.

It has always been Israeli policy to make life in the occupied territories so harsh that Palestinians would be forced to become refugees leaving the West bank free for Israeli settlement. The murder of Palestinians is part of that strategy.

Israel's REAL mistake was to ask the Arabs to stay and be part of the new country during the 1948 war. They were fleeing in droves to Arab countries and Israel should have encouraged them to go and not come back.

Israel could have annexed those territories and be done with that, they didn't, hoping

Israel ethnically cleansed 750,000 Palestinians in 1948 by not allowing refugees to return to their homes...that's a war crime.

The descendants of many of those refugees are the ones currently being dispossessed yet again as Israel attempts its 3rd wave of ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. The OP incident is just part of that process.

The world should be ashamed for turning a blind eye to the barbaric Israeli occupation.
