There is pinned topic on the general forum that has the public holidays shown.

I use google calendar for my daily routine..

Calendar always tells me if there is thaiholiday..

I do not think this feature is there by default so i quess i have clicked something right in past

I see from http://www.officeholidays.com/countries/thailand/ that it says that Wednesday is a holiday and beside it under comment column it says "Government". Since I need to go the Immigration I can assume it will be closed until Thursday morning or it is open on Wednesday?

Immigration and other government offices will be closed until Thursday. It will be very busy at immigration on Thursday since it will be the first day they are open this week.
