Autonuaq
VISA valid until end date. Extension valid until work stops. Read the text with the visa. If connected to the company it ends the day you stop working with them you can extend at the immigration office for 7 days. visa is bound to the employer in general. So in general not employer, no visa the visa has been terminated. because that was the condition of which the visa was applied to you. The small print next to your Visa stamped and / or in hand written in general in Thai is the condition that applies to the Visa All straight forward. Don Mega
Just as a point of note, your extension does not necessarily end on your last day of work. It ends when the work permit is cancelled. If it is an amicable separation from your employer, the former employer can hold back the cancellation of the work permit giving you some latitude to sort yourself out. Doing this surely on paper it would look like you are still working, who sorts out the income tax and social security that would have to be paid ? You are wrong go back and read some of the previous posts. A visa from an embassy or consulate will not be cancelled by immigration.
MaeJoMTB
@OP Don't forget you can continue to make your own SS payments for the rest of your life. Full Health insurance in Thailand for 500bht/month ........ it's well worth keeping up the payments yourself. I am not suggesting this to be a long term solution, but handy in the short term if needed to sort yourself out. Repeatedly in many threads i have read that, upon finishing work you have 24 hours to leave the country. I just pointed out this is not always the case, it is from cancellation of the work permit.
