Australia police search for UK man after bridge jump

BRISBANE: -- A missing British man is feared drowned after he jumped off a bridge in the Australian city of Brisbane "for a bit of fun".

The man, 30, was drinking at a hostel before he and three other backpackers decided to jump, police said.

He plunged about 10m into the river and briefly resurfaced before disappearing beneath the water.

In The US it normally one of the "rednecks" that says" Here, hold my beer , you guys watch this".while he tries to make the yearly Darwin Theory List.

For some reason there are really strong undercurrents in some sections of the Brisbane River.

Occasionally a Noah or two as well, so they might not find the daft pommie git.

Agree with neverdie about the possibility of the current or a noah. Although the guy is responsible for his own (possible?)demise. How many of us have done silly or downright stupid things in our younger years especially when under the influence.?

Would be nice to hear a happy ending but I don't think so.

British, nowaday's means all sorts of races, and colour's.Can we please ascertain whether or not this 'daft pommie git' had a name like Andrew Nghumbi or Eric Hal shad Mohammad, even Redetsky Whyzingsky, before we write him off as a pommie, which i think only applies to white Anglo Saxon's.
