Iran: Saudi Arabia is 'panicking,' the 2 countries can coexist

BANGKOK: -- One of the six student activists of the so-called New Democracy Group, Ja New or Siravich Serithiwat, was apprehended by soldiers after they challenged the Bangkok Military Court's power by rejecting its legitimacy, and violating the military junta's ban on political gathering.

Jakarta to provide City’s fire victims with new apartments

JAKARTA: -- Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama has announced plans to build a 16-storey apartment block for the city's residents which have lost homes to fires, but stressed only those with proof of land ownership are eligible, The Jakarta Globe reported.

27 Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Singapore and repatriated for terror links

SINGAPORE: -- Channel News Asia reported that Singapore's Internal Security Department has arrested 27 male Bangladeshi nationals working in Singapore, who were planning to take part in extremist activities in other countries, including their homeland of Bangladesh.

Local company gets approval to develop Luang Prabang Special Economic Zone

Still image from a video posted early this morning in which 23-year-old student activist leader Sirawith “Ja New” Seritiwat alleges he was physically and verbally abused by unidentified men who abducted him from in front of Thammasat University late Wednesday night.

BANGKOK — A student activist leader said he was slapped in the head and back, and verbally abused being blindfolded and taken away in an abduction-like operation late last night.

Rural teacher honored for her heroic deed in rushing sick student to hospital

TAK, 21 January 2016 (NNT) - A rural teacher in Tha Song Yang District, Tak province, has been awarded by Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha for her bravery in taking a seriously ill student on foot to a hospital located 100 kms away from school.
