More late night violence from Pattaya Beach now. The injured man in this case is Mr. James Caffery aged 52 from England who sustained minor head injuries during an altercation inside the Susie Karaoke Bar at the front of Soi 4.

Police were called after the man was seen outside the bar by local motorbike taxi drivers. Statements were taken from the English man and the owner of the bar which mentioned that the man had ordered one beer and was told to pay for that beer first before he would be allowed to continue drinking.

For an unknown reason he decided not to pay :o and was approached by the owner. She then claims that the English man slapped her around the face and seconds later, patrons inside the bar began to fight Mr. Caffery who was then ejected from the bar. All the fighters apart from Mr. Caffery fled the scene before

Police arrived and we understand the Police investigation will continue shortly after Mr. Caffery sobers-up.

British man beaten up in bar

But bar owner tells a different story Night duty officers were called after three o’clock to a bar in soi 4 after a British guy, Mr James Caffery, aged 52, said he had been hit on the head by four men who then ran off into the night.

Before going to hospital for a checkup, he spoke to concerned journalists and explained that he had visited a nearby karaoke where he had been assaulted for no good reason, nor any reason at all come to that. Journalists tried to take a picture of the entertainment place, but the owner Mrs Ponpan Butlalee, aged 39, tried to discourage this as she said it would be bad for her business.

She then went in person to the police station and put in a formal complaint that Mr Caffery had slapped her face before leaving the premises in a hurry. She added that she knew nothing of any gang assaulting the British man, a story she very much doubted.

The confusion about this case ended when the police decided to let sleeping dogs lie and refused to make an arrest.
