Dan747
My Thai wife saw an add on her "LINE" Telephone App. advertising a presale for a Tata Nano GenX Auto for pre delivery for around $3,000 USD (She Said). Anyway, I am doing some research on a purchase for just using around Ubon not driving any long distances. I already have a Toyota Duel Cab Truck for that. Anyone have any experience in buying/driving the subject Auto, I would appreciate any information-Thanks in advance.
IMHO
I think you'll find she's read a story that's done a simple currency conversion of the Indian market price (199,000 Rupees) to Thai Baht. Back in 2012 when TATA first did their case study for the Thai market, the Nano's retail pricing came out to ~275,000 Baht, and so the project was canned. I have not heard anything further about it being revived, nor have I heard anything about TATA applying for the eco car scheme, which would be a requirement here to get preferential tax breaks. In short, I think it's red herring.
JaseTheBass
It's as true as most Thai news reports I've read recently. Total made up nonsense.
