Hi ya. I am Australian and wanting to head to Thailand next April to travel the country for 6mths. I know I can get a 60 day visa before I leave. Once this runs out am I then able to do a border run and extend for 30 days? When the 30 days runs out can I then do 2 more border runs to extend this by 60 days. So in total it may be possible to stay 5 mths....... or is it simply 90 days and your out?

A little advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Contact a consulate in your home country and tell them that you wont to stay in Thailand for six months doing visa runs of course, and they may be able to give you a visa fitting for your requirements. Prehaps show proof of money for your stay etc.

If you cound get a 90 day tourist visa, followed by three one month visa runs this would do it for you.

Contact the consulate in Brisbane, not the embassy in Canberra

Thanks, I will. You don't happen to have the number? What about the consulate in Sydney?

I am planning on diong a TELF course which goes for 4 wks and apparently they can provide you with a letter stating that I am on an educational visit.
