Sen. Sgt. Maj. Theerayut Phetjit, seated second from left, is shown to reporters Tuesday in a Chonburi province police station.

CHONBURI — A married police officer is accused of murdering his mistress, her boyfriend and her mother out of jealousy this morning in Chonburi’s Phanat Nikhom district.

Sen. Sgt. Maj. Theerayut Phetjit allegedly shot 27-year-old Yupa Sara after finding her in bed with her rescue worker boyfriend Thiwa Mahaphol, 21. He killed both and then also shot to death the woman’s mother, 50-year-old Somsong Sara.

Theerayut also riddled a newly purchased white Toyota parked in front of the house with bullets before fleeing the scene, police said.

He later turned himself into the Chonburi city police station. Police were first notified of the incident about 7am.

Police said he confessed to driving to see Yupa after his shift ended this morning. He said that after finding her in bed with Thiwa, he used his 9mm pistol to kill Thiwa and then Yupa before turning the gun on her mother, according to police Maj. Amphon Buarubporn.

Just not satisfied with his wife ! RIP to the family

I hope they have took his gun off him now, these love triangles never end

well, took her mother and the Toyota out just for good measure.

Regards Worgeordie

Poor man was upset about something.

Thai police and guns not a good combination when they get upset.

Isn't this the kind of crime where the perp gets a suspended sentence because it was a crime of passion? You see, he wouldn't have done it if he wasn't angry.

Dreadful waste of life. I guess he will get moved to an inactive post now.

A bit odd. Can see shooting your wife if you caught her in bed

with another man, but shooting your rental mistress seems

pretty strange. Guess he, like many farangs , thought he was the only

man in her life..... :-)

He'll get the same treatment as those two on Koh Tao won't he?

No?

Why not?

One of Thailand's finest !!! Says it all about RTP!!

Could of been worse!, If it was his wife instead of his mia noi he caught out then he would of seriously lost face!!

Thailand is the only country requiring police officers to buy their guns. They should be provided by the RTP and officers required to sign them in at the end of the shift..as happens in 99.99% of jurisdictions.

Probably true. In the states off duty cops wearing guns are

a major force for stopping crime. Here off duty cops seem

to get drunk and shoot people, so probably a good idea

to disarm them at the end of their shift...

Crime of passion?

He didn't call ahead to let her know he was coming

.....wonder why

.....perhaps he knew something was up and wanted to catch them in the act

.....if so that would suggest premeditation.

From the OP, might explain his warped {for want of a better word} reasoning,

"he is married but had been seeing Yupa for four years. He financially supported Yupa and had bought her the new car,"

Crime of passion feels so old school. He has to get with

the times, and use the mental illness defense of that

wacky judge with the famous tantrum......

Pattaya sure is a great place.

Damn that will teach me to click on the link and read

the whole story. :-) Briefly wondered why he shot

up the car.... Well I would be pissed too then. Amazing

how good Thai police are at managing money. Impressive

to be buying a brand new car for the mia noi on a police

monthly salary of somewhere around 12,000 baht.....

That may well be your opinion of the place, but this incident occurred in Phanat Nikhom quite a distance from Sun & Sin City.

Seems his mistress wasn't satisfied with him either...

Unusually rich to support a wife and a mistress at the same time on a senior Sgt's pay. Just cause to look at funds and asset seizures...

Will he have to do a re-enactment of the crime?

Maybe he got the money from his wife. 4 years with this young woman! Surely the wife knew about her.

In the Thai police we trust, what an excellent role model world wide........ 5000 "Peeeesos" compensation, slap on the forearm and case closed......

My condolences to the victim..............

The bib seem to pick some real winners in their recruiting / hiring process. Seems quite frequently we hear about another

bib loose with a full mag shooting at whatever has upset him. man, woman, child car, etc

They must use a profile from the old west gunfighters / killers. The same kids that pull feathers from birds, cut leg off of frogs etc.

the recruiters may have the same tendencies.

The senior sargent major seems to be title that denotes they are reaching a

point that they have little patientce with the family / public anymore.

This is a horrendous and callous crime. The B2 are looking at the death sentence. This animal deserves the same.

Thai soap operas indicate this is how you are supposed to handle these kinds of situations.

I wonder what Oscar Wilde would say.

"There is nothing in the world like the devotion of a married woman. It is a thing no married man knows anything about."

Not that one, another one about life imitating art.

Your Lee Marvin signature quote seems applicable as well.
