Dr Wisanu says there is no Plan B if draft charter fails in referendum

drw.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Krea-ngarm said Wednesday that there is no Plan B in case the draft constitution fails to be endorsed in the referendum.

He, however, admitted that he had no idea what Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha had in his mind but he was sure that the prime minister would come up with a solution anyway.

The deputy prime minister maintained that it was not necessary for the time being to make it clear whether the referendum would be decided by the majority of the eligible votes or the majority of the votes actually casted.

He said that the prime minister had announced more than once that election would be held in the middle of next year in accordance with the set roadmap.

Even if the draft charter is rejected in the referendum, he insisted that election would definitely be held in accordance with the roadmap.

I predict the referendum will fail to get approved and Prayut will finally get 'elected', winning 99% of the vote.

So the self-appointed "PM" says he has a plan, and after that, his lackey, the self-appointed deputy "PM" says that there is no plan followed by, ....

These guys are in the clown car, but none of them know how to drive...

Suggest he talks with The General as only yesterday he was reporting as saying there will be an election next year with or without a constitution in place.

I am surprised there is not more opposition to slowness of returning to a legal government post-4641-1156693976.gifguitar.gif

No idea what the PM has in his mind !

A line that opens the door to all sort of responses, most of which would probably be removed, so I'll ask if the PM actually has something in his mind does even he know what it is ?

I don't expect the referendum will fail, there is no need for a 'Plan B', the PM has things under control and.........I think I saw Elvis at 3am coming out of our local 7/11.

Maybe the PM and the Deputy PM of Thailand could have a meeting to discuss the future of the country. This might help avoid confusion.

Or not.

George Bernard Shaw said Britain and the US were two nations divided by a common language.

Thailand has a government divided by a common language and the fact it seems they don't talk together much.

I rather suspect that there will not be an election in the sense that there will be a free choice between a selection of candidates from varying platforms.

Rather, the current incumbent will be endorsed by an overwhelming display of public support, and agree thus (s)elected to remain in power.

Suthep's "great movement" may well be central to the process.

After all, with the level of public support which he will undoubtedly have, and which can be demonstrated if need be, what is the point of holding an election. It will only disturb peace and order, and reduce happiness nationwide.

I feel another hit single coming on...

the problem will be if there is no elvis

The referendum should include a multiple choice of the 1997, 2007 or the newly minted draft charter. That is if the junta have the guts.

Dr Wisanu says there is no Plan B if draft charter fails in referendum

No need for Plan A, no need for Plan B, Plan C, Plan D or any ....... the allmighty PM and former general has article Number Not-To-Be-Named ............ cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

They do not know whether the majority needed will be from the total Eligible voters or total number of vote cast.

This is crazy.

If they use total eligible voters which number about 50 million; then you need 25 million for 50 %( Pass).

But the total number of people who normally vote is only about 70 % ( 35 million people). Voter turn out.

This mean that they need around 25 million yes votes( 71 % ).

25 million out 35 million votes ! Big difference !!

So no way it will pass !!!

Which is what the government wants; I think ?

"the PM already has a back-up plan ready to handle such a development [new draft fails to pass the public referendum], which may include an amendment of the Provisional Constitution of 2014." - NLA President Pornpetch Wichitcholchai (2015-12-21)

Sounds like a Plan B.

causing confusion is an issue of national security and earns you a week of AA

...

if you are not part of the junta, that is...

sigh... coffee1.gif
