Hello

I want to visit Vietnam for 3 to 4 weeks, need advice on were to stay, need lower price hotels.

Will be traveling Nov 13 till Dec 13 06 . any help would be great.

I stay now in Chiang Mai, do I need to get visa here ?

Nha Trang would be the main Beach resort however i prefer the beaches around Hoi An.You have Cu Dai and numerous others around and about coupled with the fact that Hoi An is a chilled out place, however in saying that if you want nightlife Nha Trang would be your best bet.I think regarding visas, yes you need one,im sure could be obtained in BKK.

The beach resort Vung Tao is only a few hours from Saigon in a hydrofoil on the river. Plenty of bars and cheap hotels.

:D

Nha Trang, Cam Ranh Bay, and Vung Tau are the beach areas in the Southern part of the country. My personal favorite is Vung Tau, just south of Ho Chi Minh city. Many years ago it was known as Cap St. Jacques by the French. I was there with the U.S. military many years ago, and I suspect it still has the bars/hotels for the tourist trade.

Just be careful not to do a "Gary Glitter" thing on us.

:o

Go for Vung Tau.

You do need a visa (if you hold a UK passport definitely), they cost around 1800 baht and are available from the embassy in Bangkok. Take four days to process and you can download the form from t'internet. We are off there on Monday. Hooray :o
