madhav
I recently purchased a Nissan Cefiro and the drivers seat is a full fixed back racing seat. It is great for a race track but a pain in the ass to get in and out of. I want to buy some more user friendly and adjustable seats. Recaro or bride are nice but anything will do. Anyone know where to buy some? This is the kind of style I am after. I don't really care about the brand. 2nd hand will do also. Thanks a lot. jay1980
For 2nd hand try looking in the car recyclers on the Chiang Kong Bangna soi's here https://www.google.com/maps/@13.6300097,100.7060829,17z lots of used engines and just about everything else car related and for a petrol head very intresting to look around. you might even be able to trade in your old seats for new http://www.rtnmotor.co.th/ has sport seats, orginal and copies http://www.rtnmotor.co.th/index.php?route=product/search&keyword=seat&category_id=0 Edited January 29, 2016 by jay1980
JoeW
Try Up Garage. It's a Japanese chain of 2nd hand car parts. Most parts are imported from Japan. https://www.facebook.com/UPGARAGETH/?fref=ts When I lived in Japan I bought all my stuff there. In Thailand I have bought a few bits and pieces for customers here up North. You can also order from their shops all over Japan via http://www.croooober.com/?locale=en Never done it before though... DavisH
Make sure you get the real deal though. Lots of cheap fakes on the market here. Once I asked about bride seats at autobacs. They where the Taiwanese version and 19K each. The locally made ones are much cheaper. Or go to a wrecking yard and get newish seats from a compatible car. I don't really want to spend 30-40k baht on a pair of seats in a car that is only worth 200k. I mean it is a nice cefiro I have with tasteful mods like a 2jz conversion with manual transmission, great suspension mods, nice volk wheels, etc etc but I don't think I can justify this much on seats alone. I prefer to spend the money on a single turbo conversion. And 40k baht would get me a decent second hand turbo, manifold and possibly even a set of injectors. From there I could install it all, then save a bit more money and get a used ECU and tune it. Everything else on the car is already done and ready to go. Also the seats I have I believe are worth good money to the right buyer. A full fixed Bride racing seat in very good condition, and a well bolstered recaro passenger seat. I just got to find a place that sees the value in them. Could possibly organise a swap if I found the right place. I am in Koh Samui so it is very limited here. Could easily travel to Surat Thani if such a place existed worth the trip, but driving to Bangkok would not be worth it unless I intended to do it all at once. ie swap the seats, install the single turbo setup and then tune it all in one go. For this I would have to know the right people and places ahead of time and plan it all in advance.

madhav
Thanks for all the input. Good place to sell my seat. I figured out the search term in Thai: ซื้อเบาะแต่ง and from this search discovered there are plenty of copies available for cheap. See it here Can get a nice pair for 6000 baht. I can't really justify 40k baht for a set of genuine or 20k for a 2nd hand set. Even if these cheap copies deteriorate after a year, I can buy another set and I am still ahead. And my car being a cefiro means they would have sold many and they would have some idea of fitment. Edited January 30, 2016 by madhav
DavisH
I get your point, money is better spent on engine upbrades/suspension/brakes...but you may want to try to copy seats before you buy them. What about seats from a later model cefiro? They are pretty comfortable if I recall...

What about seats from a later model cefiro? They are pretty comfortable if I recall... I have used copy seats before and they were very comfortable and quality was fine. As far as I understand half of the time the genuine ones are made in a factory next the fakes. If they are comfortable and last a few years then I don't care what factory they are made in. As far as stock Cefiro seats go, they are ok but getting old. The skyline GTR seats are interchangeable and better but once again getting on in age. I would prefer a more modern and supportive design.
