BANGKOK:-- Police have smashed a drug dealing network allegedly responsible for supplying large amounts of highly potent methamphetamine pills throughout Bangkok and neighbouring provinces.

On Friday, officers from the Crime Suppression Division told reporters they had arrested two men and a women as they exchanged more than 80,000 speed pills hidden in packages of sunflower seeds in the car park of a temple in Wiset Chan Chai in Ang Thong province.

Following the arrest, police searched the Kanchanaburi home of Poonsawaat Khiawkem, 45 and his wife Tanpasakron Tomsung, 44, where they found a further 16,000 methamphetamine pills and 730g of crystal meth.

Officers also found ingredients and equipment to make a further one million speed pills, which police believe would have a street value in the region of 200 million Baht.

Police said that the pair added the crystal meth during the production of the methamphetamine to create a much stronger and addictive version of the speed pills.

Mr Poonsawaat, who police believe is a major drug dealer responsible for supplying large amounts of drugs throughout the capital, allegedly confessed his involvement, telling officers that he only produces the drugs on behalf of another man of whom he did not know his full name, reported Thairath.

The husband and wife, along with the other man, have been charged in relation to the production and possession of narcotics and remain in police custody as they await trial.

Why have their face covered up ?

Expose the low life pricks for what they are.

Agreed! Why should this scum have anonymity???

They are I believe unconvicted suspects?

By the sound of it they are guilty but until they are convicted and sentenced they should have at least the right to anonymity....

The cops are not very good at maintaining anonymity of the 'unconvicted' suspects though...

Trafficking yaba is very different from being just a dopey courier in a pickup truck.

That English guy Marcus got 50 years -no parole for trafficking about 1/10th what these clowns have been caught with.

They wont get out till the next Ice Age..........pardon the pun..

Because they are only accused. They have not been convicted of any crime.

Ever hear of the presumption of innocence?

I don't think any of the things you highlight were right. Until proven guilty people should have the right to anonymity.

I rather think you are being a bit obtuse in your thinking BP.

By your reasoning nobody should know Yingluck's name.

She has been accused but not convicted.

So their photos will be in the news tomorrow following their conviction!

Good point.

However that still doesn't mean anyone has a right to publish pictures of those accused of crimes but yet to be convicted.

The whole innocent until proven guilty is a load of sh!t. If that was seriously how it was then people wouldn't have to put up bail or even have a court refuse bail because in essence they are still innocent.

The reality is in all countries you are guilty until proven innocent.

Given that the Royal Thai Police have a bit of "previous" for ahem, corruption, and erm, stitching people up (especially their rivals operating without BiB franchises), it's nice to see these people given anonymity before they are convicted. It's almost First World, fancy that.

Never in Thailand, you must prove your innocent, not the other way around in Thailand.

Very seldom do you see an accused person with their face blanked out, just take a look at any news story.

I am already pushing the limits on Viagra. If I put "super strength speed pills" into the mix, I would die for sure. :)

"A unidentified Farang man was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room. Two Thai women, identified only as Nok and Nam, reported the death to the hotel staff.

"We see man take super strength pills. Then we do boom boom and then man die. He had big smile on his face. He die happy." The Bangkok police said they could not find a phone, wallet or passport, and they said there was no signs of a struggle, as his arms and legs were ties to the bed at the time.
