It might be blindingly obvious but I just like to double check.

My 1 year extension of stay expires March the 19th so how long before it expires should I go along to immigration and start the procedure to renew it?

  • You can apply within the last 30 days or 45 at some offices.

The new extension will apply from when the current one expires regardless of how early you apply.

It may vary by the reason for extension - if for work you will likely have to wait until they have the required paperwork ready. If for marriage you may wait on spouse to be ready. If for retirement you may be too lazy to even do. smile.png

Many offices let you do it 45 days early.

I know you know your stuff. Read many of your posts. I know bkk allows 45 days prior. I thought it was in the minority. You state MOST. Is that the case ? Only ask as sometimes farang ask me these sort of questions

I said many.

Khon Kaen office does. As do plenty of others according to members.

Ok many does not mean 2. Maybe members could share a list of 45 prior extension. Think this would be useful as many folk maybe flying out more than 30 day beforehand.

Would be useful list. Maybe ubonjoe may have list already

The ones I know of (from reports) are; CW, CM, Jomtien, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Korat. There are no doubt others.

Point taken . That includes many big cities. Wonder if hua hin on that list. Also the other many including Pattaya etc. You would imagine the complete list has already been posted somewhere

I did a quick search and found one report (50 days) from Hua Hin http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/787189-whens-the-earliest-i-can-renew-my-retirement-visa/?p=8857197

Jomtien is the office for Pattaya.
