Hollande frees abused murderer Jacqueline Sauvage

PARIS: -- French President Francois Hollande has waived the remaining prison sentence of a woman who was sentenced to 10 years for murdering her abusive husband.

I like it. It's hard to comprehend what repeated abuse does to someone. Eventually the person has to find relief and safety. I come down on the side of self defense.

Cheers.

self-defense was not recognized during the two trials

in French law for there to have self-defense requires the danger is imminent and proportionate response

Well she did shoot him three times in the back.

Anyway, the conviction stands, he's just shortened the sentence.
