BANGKOK, 2 February 2016 (NNT) – The National Legislative Assembly is set to meet with their international counterparts at a gathering in New York City which will start this weekend.

NLA’s Vice President Peerasak Porjit, today chaired a meeting with fellow members who will attend the Annual Parliamentary Hearing at the United Nations, scheduled for February 6th to 11th in New York City, USA.

The NLA has also invited representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Human Rights Commission and the Office of Narcotics Control Board to share ideas and information, that will be used at an upcoming international gathering, which is set to discuss the problem of drugs.

Parliamentarians from around the world are expected to present their ideas about the global drug situation and such issues as the strengthening of anti-narcotics measures to tackle related violent crimes, as well as the prevention of drug use and the rehabilitation of addicts.

...and the nose picking goes on.

" Welcome to the UN's Annual Parliamentary Hearing, you must be that un-elected mob from Thailand. "

I don't see Prayut allowing anyone from the Thai National Human Rights Commission being allowed to leave Thailand. The already ineffective NHRC will lose its Independent Organization designation under the current draft constitution and Prayut can't risk any of its representatives being questioned by a free press about loss of human rights under Prayut's regime.

Given that the others are very unlikely to have been "appointed', then 'counterparts" is a bit generous, don't you think?

" Welcome to the UN's Annual Parliamentary Hearing, you must be that un-elected mob from Thailand. "

They'll fit in well with the mobs from NK, Zimbabwe, China etc who all get elected with 99.99% of the votes.

Then of course there are all those non elected from the non democratic Arabic totalitarian states, the corrupt African and South American countries etc.

Democracy - something the people can never really be given. Would upset the controlling elites too much.
