Is it possible to get a double entry visa in Vientiane or Savannakhet now?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have a Swedish passport containing a previously transferred ED visa and a tourist double entry visa which soon expires. There are no red or blue warning stamps in this passport.

Is it currently possible to get a double entry visa or single entry visa in Vientiane or Savannakhet?

What is the better option at the moment, Vientiane or Savannakhet?

BP

Single entry tourist visa is all you can obtain now.

There are no double or triple entry tourist visas any more, they have been replaced by the Multi entry tourist visa obtainable in your home country.

  • The double entry tourist visa is no longer available anywhere.

You can get a single entry visa (SETV) form either Vientiane and Savannakhet and the requirements are the same.

Nope as they do not exist anymore.

Single entry ONLY. I recommend Savannakhet if you want to do it by yourself and Vientiane if you want to go by an agency.

as the other member said already, no more double entry.

And I agree that Savannakhet is OK to go alone n Vientiane is best to go with agency.

Agencies prices are reasonable.

Many people underestimate the local transportation cost in Laos.

Normally I go to Vientiane alone rather than to Savannakhet. I have always applied at the consulate in Vientiane previously.

Are there any new requirements?

So far the Vientiane consulate has never once asked me for any particular documentation apart from the passport and the form.

Why do you guys recommend an agency?

Would I be able to do it myself again or are there any new requirements that only an agency can provide?

both sides have advantages and/or disadvantages.

There is no addl requirement for the time being.

With agency you know the price and service to be expected.

Many people need to do this one time only and are not familiar with procedure, etc., so an agency is useful.

If you a crack and know all than keep doing it by yourself.

As you can do it by yourself then I would recommend Savannakhet, even easier than Vientiane and something new as you have already been to Vientiane.

I prefer Savannakhet as it's smaller and fewer people, last time in Vientiane I had over 500 people before me in line (I got a cue number over 500 and I was not last person to arrive at the embassy) compared to last time in Savannakhet with only about 100-120 people in total.

When I go to Vientiane go with an agency as that then they take care of hotel, transports and so on and have their contacts at the embassy if there would be any problem with your documents.
