Police say body parts found in Chao Phraya river belong to the same person

0302007-wpcf_728x410.jpg

BANGKOK: -- The three body parts separately found floating in the Chao Phraya river in the past few days belong to the same person who is likely to be an Asian, said Pol Maj-Gen Pornchai Suteerakune, Director of Institute of Forensic Medicine, on Wednesday.

Although DNA tests showed the body parts belong to the same person, fingerprints check showed that the victim has no criminal record, said the police commissioner, adding that the priority now is to try to identify the victim.

Pol Maj-Gen Pornchai said it was presumed the victim died three days ago and his body was cut up in pieces by his murderer using a saw. The body parts could be thrown down the river from a bridge spanning across the river or thrown from a boat at different locations as the three body parts were found about 25 kilometres apart.

An informed police source said that the victim was not a Thai but could be an Asian-European. He said it could not be confirmed whether the victim was tortured or not but the right wrist looked as if it was taped.

Well that's narrowed it down, an Asian that could have been dead for 3 days before and maybe body parts were dumped in different locations 25 kms apart. Good luck with that one!

Wonder how they will explain finding 2 left feet of different size.

Body parts probably from a old farang that was chopped up for not funding the sick kwai's vet bills.

So can they tell from DNA the deceased is not Thai?

Maybe I'm being too logical here, but can you really determine nationality from DNA?

The text says "the victim was not a Thai but could be an Asian-European". How do they know he wasn't, say, a Laos or Cambodian national? Or am I putting too much belief in "an informed police source"?

So with all the body parts from the same body, we can safely assume a suicide?

Yes. Jumped into the path of a ships propeller.

Maybe the size of his willy gave them a clue gigglem.gif

Obviously from a Thai politician, with two left feet it's easier to go round in circles the inside foot has to be smaller to account for the smaller radius travelled

Oh, what a relief !

Only a foreigner, maybe he killed himself.

I swear all parts from the same body, never mind the two left legs. he always had two left legs when dancing.....

RIP

And be assured that RTP will do their up-most to catch whoever did this terrible thing to you, but surely it has to be a foreigner, no Thai would do such a thing.

Some people have two left hands, so there is no surprise of having two left feet. Smart Thais in their assessment.

The deceased was shot 9 times in the head, "suicide has not been ruled out"

Actual report in Nairobi news paper a few years back!

The autopsy will prove once again...that it was a slick foreigner suicide in an attempt to derail Thai tourism...

i did a post on this and now all the bits are together all belonging to an asian i would hazard a guess and say this is gangland related ..

Dismembered corpse found floating in the Chao Phraya: More clues revealed
BY STAFF WRITER

chao-phraya-river-body-parts.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Earlier this week, human body parts comprising a head, torso, arm and leg were washed up separately on the banks of the Chao Phraya river in Bangkok and Nonthaburi provinces.

Yesterday, another leg part was found in the river at Pathum Thani.

Preliminary DNA tests on the first set of body parts has revealed that they likely belong to the same Asian male, around 40 years old and over 165cm tall. Black hair, a full set of teeth and a missing appendix are the other clues police have to go on.

The DNA testing has also supposedly found that the man, while of Asian descent, is not a Thai national.

It is anticipated that the man was bound before his body parts dumped into the river as the arm parts found had tape on them, reports The Nation.

It’s also thought he was killed prior to the dismemberment.

While much more is known about the victim’s demography than when the body parts first appeared, police still have a way to go before they are able to fully identify the victim and the circumstances leading to his unpleasant demise.

Didn't we learn from Koh Tao that you can't determine nationality from a DNA test!

Human parts found in Chao Phraya river may belong to European, Investigators say

BANGKOK: -- The human parts that were found in Chao Phraya river during the past several days may belong to the European, the latest investigation today revealed.

A chief police investigators said before noon that forensic autopsy revealed no food remained in the victim’s stomach, indicating that he might be starved before he was killed and his body chopped.

The officer said the victim might be kidnapped for ransom, and was left without eating for two days before he was killed.

It was also very likely that the victim was a European, the officer added.

Yes. Jumped into the path of a ships propeller.

It was old "propeller" Plod, trying to get the river to flow backwards so the dams would fill up again and solve the drought crisis.

An informed police source... cheesy.gif

More public nonsense from the RTP. Why don't they just shut up until they have something credible to say? Don't they realise that their press conference drivel is one of the things which makes them a laughing stock?

European. The case is closed :D

Maybe he owned a chop shop.

So with all the body parts from the same body, we can safely assume a suicide?

Definitely :)

The only point that is not resolved yet, as Kho Tao is where suicides usually happen, how did the suicidee manage to reach the Chao Phraya river

So, not Asian then. Why do the brown clowns still continue to open their mouths and underline how infintely stupid they really are???
