They will be proposed to the CRCA for consideration. The CAAT is currently determining qualifications for Thailand’s own aviation safety inspectors. It is also considering extending the deadline for commercial pilot license renewals, while new regulations are being drafted. This move would allow airlines to continue operating as usual. -- NNT 2016-02-

phoenixdoglover
Translation: aviation safety work is being done by experts from the UK.
kimamey
I suppose the question is, who has been paid to oversee aviation standards up to now and how much money have they been paid for seemingly not doing it?
NCC1701A
"If we form a new committee they will tell us to do our jobs. Make big problem." "Not problem. Form another new committee and they report to each other. We are out of the loop." "Good thinking, that why you big boss of airplanes."
Emster23
"...ensure that Thai aviation safety standards are in line with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) requirements." Just how do they intend to get Europe to drop their standards? Can't really see Thai aviation rising up to Euro standards.
dundee48
CCFGFBBDF.(The Command Centre For Getting our Finger out of our Butts Before we get Downgraded even Further) is on the case, expect nothing to be done until a few months before the next inspection when it will leap into action. TallGuyJohninBKK
Sounds like a lot of hot air talking and forming committees that will produce little if anything of any actual result. In other words, everything running smoothly Thai style.
bangon04
Yippee - another committee! Double the Mulling power. Surely the pesky foreigners will stop complaining now......
Valentine
So they do not even know what the requirements are or the terms & conditions. Another 2 committees who actually cannot implement anything except make recommendations which may or may not be acted upon while spending more taxpayer money as members will need extra payments & eating out at expensive restaurants. TallGuyJohninBKK
I'm guessing there also might need to be some EU travel/study trips required there for the members, so they can "learn" exactly what it is they're supposed to be learning about. First class on THAI, I presume.
