BANGKOK, 4 February 2016 (NNT) - The Command Centre for Resolving Civil Aviation Issues (CRCA) has appointed two working committees to ensure that Thai aviation safety standards are in line with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) requirements.

According to the CRCA, the first committee will be responsible for studying EASA requirements as well as reviewing the terms and conditions of the agreement between EASA and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).

The second one will work alongside an aviation consulting company based in the United Kingdom to determine the steps needed to be taken to avoid a ban from flying to EU countries. They will be proposed to the CRCA for consideration.

The CAAT is currently determining qualifications for Thailand’s own aviation safety inspectors. It is also considering extending the deadline for commercial pilot license renewals, while new regulations are being drafted. This move would allow airlines to continue operating as usual.

"...ensure that Thai aviation safety standards are in line with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) requirements."

Just how do they intend to get Europe to drop their standards? Can't really see Thai aviation rising up to Euro standards.

So they do not even know what the requirements are or the terms & conditions. Another 2 committees who actually cannot implement anything except make recommendations which may or may not be acted upon while spending more taxpayer money as members will need extra payments & eating out at expensive restaurants.
