I am living in Udon Thani with a non-immigrant O visa (my wife is Thai). Anyways, soon my one year visa will expire and I am planning on going to Laos to get another 1 year visa.

For some reason, I had the idea in my head that it would be required to fly out to Laos and fly back. Is this true, or can I just take a bus from my home in Udon Thani over to Vientiane?

Obviously that would be a lot cheaper & I don't want to waste money.

You can make the trip by land or air.

You will not get a multiple entry non-o visa in Vietntiane. You will have to go to the consulate in Savannakhet to get it.

You can get another 90 day entry if you do a border hop on or before the enter before date on your visa.

As said. you need to go to Savanakhet.

Also, as you are married, you can extend any of your 90 day stays by 60 days at an immigration office (1,900 baht).
