Hello, I am new to the Forum and just got a Retirement Visa. I will need a reentry permit as i will be traveling to neighboring countries. I live in BKK and as you know it is a pain to get to that immigration office. I understand that for 90 day registration i must go there, but to get a reentry permit, can I go to the Immigration office in Pattaya when I am down there? Thanks for any advice.

You can only get the re-entry permit in Bangkok. You can get also get it at either airport in Bangkok on departure from the country or at at some border crossings.

valid date, yes

only document you need is your passport and fill in the form given from immigration. add cash. processing time while you wait. depends on queue. same day for sure within an hour of entry into the building if you are lucky.

at a different office than where you are down as residing? no-can-do. but there are a few offices in bkk. have to check if other than chaengwattana can do reentry permits.

how do you figure chaeng wattanna is hard to get to? where are you heading from. laksi train station is within walking distance. i walked there and back a few times. also buses from victory monument to the front door, done that a few times too. victory monument is on skytrain route. sure you might waste an hour getting there.

The re-entry permit will be valid up to the date your extension ends.

You will need a TM8 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/download/pdf/tm8.pdf

Copies of your passport photo page, visa, extension of stay stamp, entry/permit to stamp and TM6 departure card.
