And... Trash bins won't solve the problem. They don't know how to use them. Fresh photo from Koh Chang

Where's the after picture?
What do you mean saying 'after picture'?
Didn't you pick up all the trash and put it in the can?

In your first question a few posts before, I have noticed that you were expecting an answer "well, I did not pick up any trash while I was snorkeling". Now, when I posted photo about a bin, that they don't know how to use you are asking if I pick up all the trash.

I see that you don't understand the topic. Let me explain, especially for you. In simple words.

The whole thing is not about to walk around picking up all trash from the ground, while locals and tourists throw new ones again and again. It is about to educate them, that if they wants their kids to see the same nature as they can see, they should keep environment clean.

But, when I do snorkeling or diving and see a plastic bag or bottle on the reef I simply pick it up and store in my pocket until I can go back to the boat and place it in the bin. For two reasons: first, it is not a big deal, and second I can see the reef without rubbishes for a while.

When I'm passing next to a bin on the island and see rubbishes around I'm not gonna stop and pick them up but I just think how stupid people are. If I live near that bin and I know that no one is about to clean that ditch, I would do it by myself to have clean area near my house. But I can not make whole island clean if I'm visiting it for a few days.

Do you understand now, or you want me to explain in more simple words?

A no would have been simpler.

That said, I believe you educate people by setting the example.

I hate trash. Where I work there used to be trash everywhere, now it's one of the cleanest plants around.

I'm thinking how to find a way to educate more people than I could by myself only. It has to be cool for them to live in clean environment.

As you said your work is the cleanest place now. But you work there so you can teach them. Well reputation people in every region should be educated about that to give good example. A farang who is visiting an island can not give one.

I 've seen pictures of farang cleaning the beach or phonecells, thai love to see that in their newspapers.....

Unfortunately for them i don't want to be in their newspapers, never.

There should be something in the water which jams jetski propellors, then they will sure start cleaning.

All down to Education ,

I get around Thailand to a few beaches, Pattaya , Wah Hin , Koa lak, Phuket and surrounding beaches, I always have a carrier bag with me, As i walk along the beach/es I pick up plastic, paper bags and the rest of the things people leave on the beach, I have had some good reactions from Thais, and funny looks and from a few Tourist too, I dont care i am doing my bit, Not for me but for the creatures that live in the sea that dont have any say in their demise, If every body did this the place/world would be a better place. maybe I have started a new trend. Because i have seen a few more people doing this now, although i have been told a lot of Australians do this and have been doing this for a while. But better still just take your own shit home with you.

Exactly, every "litter" bit hurts (or helps) .

Often when you start picking trash people will join in.

It's not much, but it's certainly more than moaning about it on the internet.

I agree with you about picking trash but because I frequently do that (besides when tour guide drop me to the beach for 20 mins) I don't think I'm moaning about that. I wrote that because I care and maybe someone can share opinion.

I honestly haven't read any post except the OP.

Sorry to say-- Don't waste your time farting against thunder.

By the way I agree with your sentiment.

as they say, it only takes one good man to do nothing.

Russian and Chinese snorkeler's legs and heads, of late.

And no, it hasn't started any cleaning that I'm aware of.
