Narathiwat (นราธิวาส) Governor Pracha Terat (ประชา เตรัตน์) has launched a campaign meant to encourage people to help prevent corruptions by examining the local government management.

The campaign was launched at Tanyong(ตันหยง) Hotel in Muang (เมือง) District and attended by over 300 participants. He said at the ceremony that the government is aware of people's roles in monitoring the transparency of local governments as they form the sector which is directly affected by the pros and cons of local government management.

Assistant Professor Parichat Suvarnabupha (ปาริชาต สุวรรณบุบผา), a lecturer from Mahidol University, explains the importance of public participation in observing illegal activities. She said people's participation in checking the performance of local government will stimulate the awareness on their own importance and unity.

According to her, there have been many corruption activities in the country; therefore, it is a good thing if all sectors will help monitor and prevent unscrupulous actions.
