PHUKET: -- Wichit Police have today (Feb 8) confirmed that there has so far been no sightings of missing three-year-old Nong DJ who went missing from his grandparents home last Wednesday (Feb 3).

However, they state that a team from the Mirror Foundation have now come on board to help police with their search for the missing boy.

Chief of the Wichit Police Col Kitipong Klaikaew told The Puket News today, “We are not yet able to provide any update about Nong DJ. Unfortunately, there are very few witnesses and we have received very little information.

“There are no CCTVs in the area from where he disappeared, and what CCTV footage we have seen shows no signs of Nong DJ.

“We are still hopeful that he is still alive,” Col Kitipong said.

This is a very tragic and heart filled story. Being a father with a young son myself, I can feel the pain she must be going through. I really hope this brave young boy is found alive and safe from harm.

The police are taking this very seriously I live in Bang Tao and my next door Thai neighbours got a call advising them not to leave their young children unattended.

Great he has been found but 10km from where last seen. I find it hard to believe he walked that far on his own. Conjures up another scenario that is not good.

Great news, hope other parents gain some awareness and look for their children more after this story... Just in case they could be in the same situation, worse thing can happened to have lost or miss your child.

PHUKET: -- Missing 3-year-old boy Jessadakorn Chaiyo, or “Nong DJ”, who was last seen at his family’s home in on Wednesday (Feb 3) was found alive, but weak, earlier today (Feb 9). He is now recovering at Vachira Phuket Hospital, n Phuet Town.

Search teams found the toddler in a forest near Anusorn 200 Pi Rd, behind the Wang Talang duty free store, at 11:40am – about three kilometres from his home near Kwang Rd, Wichit.

Kusoldharm rescue worker Phattarawut Akanitthakorn, who was among the 30-strong search effort that included Wichit Police, Kusoldharm rescue workers and personnel from The Mirror Foundation, explained that Nong DJ's family had requested that search teams to search into the forest.

“They said that a dog Nong DJ had been playing with had turned up at the house twice and barked as if to tell them something,” Mr Phattarawut said.

“Also, Nong DJ’s grandfather, Sujit Chaiyo, told us that about three days ago residents in the area told him that they had heard a sound of a boy crying and saw one boy walking toward an abandoned shelter in the forest, but a dog barked at him so he ran off deeper into the forest,” he added.

“The residents did not think that the boy was a missing child (sic). Instead they thought the boy belonged to Myanmar workers in the area. Mr Sujit reported this to police anyway and told them to search near the area.”

Wouldn't matter if the Devil incarnate had found him and returned him to his family. Happily the child is reunited with his parents and family. That is the point not who found him.
I must ask, Do you have children of your own? Your somewhat disdainful remark seems to indicate you are childless and lack emotion.

I thought this was gonna be a sad story,

But it had a happy ending.

Bet they'll watch him better in future.

Wow, what a superb effort by all those kind hearted good people who took part in the search and subsequent rescue of this very lucky toddler.

I am not alone here in thinking that this child would not be found alive,

and I am not alone in experiencing the joy that he was, found alive.

Full marks and congratulations to all concerned

You have helped to make the world a better place.

PHUKET: -- A three years and nine months toddler who went missing from his parents’ home in Phuket six days ago has been found in the bushes behind his house on Tuesday by a search and rescue team.

The toddler, identified as Jesadakorn Chaiyo, looked weak, dehydrated and speechless when he was found and was immediately rushed to hospital for medical treatment, said the Missing People Centre of Mirror Foundation.

The young boy’s mother, Ms Saowalak Chaiyo, an employee at a shopping mall in Phuket appealed for help in the social media after he left home in Tambon Vichit of Muang district on February 3 and did not show up.

A search and rescue mission was launched by police, the Mirror Foundation and villagers in the missing boy’s community. The search failed to locate the young boy for six days until Tuesday when the search team focused its effort on the bushes behind the boy’s house where he was found.
