How to find a maid in Phuket

Go to a nearby 4 or 5 star hotel and ask to see the Head Housekeeper. Tell he what you need and what you will pay and she will find someone from her team who wants some extra hours or someone that worked for her before and wants full time (if that's what you need). You will therefor get someone who is trained to clean, makes beds like a demon and knows what laundry should look like when it comes back from the cleaners. You'll pay a little bit more but the standard is so much higher. You may need to tell her which way you want your toilet roll to run though if your have OCD.

Hi,

we use a website called phuketall.com , have secured 3 lovely ladies to work in our villa all ex hotel trained.... which very important..

its where generally many thais go for jobs and a lot is written in thai and english thou when you advertise you many need someone who speaks and writes thai to put the add in for you.

you may also want anyone that calls to speak with someone in thai for you firstly...

many many hotels also use this website

just specific your requirements

i.e. must speak english

- only thai national apply - age between 25-40 yrs

- hotel trained lady

- must like pets - remember if you have dog/s stipulate incase you have a muslim lady applying. (we had one muslim lady to tell us just l;rock our dogs up all day....)

- suggest wage can also be mentioned if you wish or negotiated depending experience, we find paying more for a hotel trained lady works out much better in the end..

if children mention this and importantly 'live-in' or 'live-out' and working hours - monday to saturday ??? .... any cooking involved....

good luck we have been very lucky using this website as when it is low season many hotel maids/housekeepers are laid off and looking for work..

A very good suggestion – we've had several maids, but our last had been working in a 4-star hotel before, and she is excellent; even the top-blade on the toilet-paper-roll is folded like a flower (and turned the way as described in the original US-patent, OCD or not)... biggrin.png

By the way, our former maid, who left after several years because she was going to be married, start working as maid in a hotel, and stopped after one day – that was too hard work...

All maids are from myanmar now, like in restaurants.

thai people don't want to do this. Even some easy jobs they find it too hard...

Load of borrocks. Maids in decent hotels make a decent salary and get service charge each month. They work damn hard, especially in the high season. And most are Thai. A lot are locals but there are a lot from the North East as well.

Thank you for suggestion. We just called on the Housekeeper of a nearby hotel and she has offered to help. BTW we are looking for a live in maid. We are in the Laguna area.
