It was about a 15-20 minute walk. I was at the hospital because my left knew was swollen and was painful. X-ray didn't show any damage and I wasn't in Thailand long enough to be scheduled for an MRI. After getting an appointment here in the U.S. of A. with an orthopedic doctor, having x-rays at his office with no evidence of injury I was finally able to get an MRI done. A torn meniscus was found in my left knee. Same knee that had a torn or ruptured bursa, over 10 years ago, can't remember what exactly. If not for my knee, I will take your word for how long it would take to walk there. In the past I could walk between 3.5 and 4 miles an hour if I was in a hurry. Not so fast now. -

That is actually fairly typical, even before this current campaign started. It's the same when I venture into Sakon Nakhon from where I live. They don a helmet when they think they might get caught. A couple of commuters from our village will carry their helmet until they reach the main road or the city outskirts and then they'll stick it on their heads! And as it's been stated many times, most M/C accidents that result in deaths occur on rural roads, where the speeds are higher resulting more serious consequences. Hey and guess what. I don't recall seeing a policeman in or around our village in 8 years! -
