indieke
Just a question. There seem some changes published here and there. The link to the non visa extension is gone. Does someone has a link to it? I explain myself further. The last 3 visits, I extended for my gf and myself, as we were staying around 50 days, she is Philippine. That is the reason we not just take a visa. it is very difficult task to obtain that in Philippines. She was even interviewed and denied, even being judged to have a foreign bf. So we do it this way now, just extend, which never has been a problem. So is this now still possible, or is it with the new directions this week cancelled? If not, I need an official link to this possibility for her, as immigration or airline in Philippines can even refuse boarding. It never was a problem for her before, even without that statement, and she has already non -visa extensions. But ME, on my last trip in November was denied boarding, in France and later in Germany. I had to ask for someone higher in rank, explain an extension was possible, show it in my passport. In 26 years I never was asked anything when boarding. Also, a one entry visa is worthless if you plan to go around different countries. So for myself, I have a visa now, but for her will go for extension, if nothing has changed again. There seem new regulations announced here : http://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand/new-visa-rules.php Not a word about extension. I found also another page about this, where they say that only a 7 extension is possible now this way. I do not know what to think any more. sunnyjim5
That link leads to a commercial website which provides a lot of inaccurate information. Extensions of stay to visa exempt entries are easily obtained. Airlines may require an onward flight within 30 days if a person has no visa as a condition for boarding. Maestro
The website to which you posted a link does not belong to a Thai embassy or to any other Thai government agency and has some wrong and outdated information on it. The only official source on the Internet of which I am aware is the original Thai text of the Royal Thai Police Order No. 327/2557, clause 2.4, available here on the website of the Immigration Bureau: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=278413 An unofficial English translation of it is available here, courtesy of Thaivisa: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_id=280314
Maestro
When the check-in staff of an airline chooses to check the visa requirement for a passenger, they consult the relevant IATA database. This database can also be consulted by the public via one of the following web interfaces: http://www.iatatravelcentre.com/passport-visa-health-travel-document-requirements.htm https://www.klm.com/travel/kz_en/prepare_for_travel/travel_planning/travel_clinic/visaform.htm
indieke
So this means nothing has changed. Then she is good to go as before, thank you.
Maestro
Nothing has changed: Visa required, except for Nationals of Philippines with a normal passport for a maximum stay of 30 days. - Visitors who are visa exempt must hold documents for their next destination. I doesn't say so explicitly, but the meaning is – and has always been – that the traveller must have a ticket for transportation, usually by air, out of Thailand within 30 days from arrival and, where necessary, a visa for the next destination. It is always at the discretion of the airline whether or not to enforce this requirement. Philippnes visa-exempt requirements.pdf
indieke
I must say, the website of Thai Immigration is really not so clear. Many people, even flight company's, not even know it exist. So Happy to hear this is still possible. In Chiang Mai, they were annoying, but in Phuket, just a formality.
