Accident Tractor Driver Run Over on Jomtien Beach
Picture courtesy of TMN. A 27-year-old speedboat tractor driver was left in critical condition after being run over, by his own vehicle on Jomtien Beach Road on the morning of 6 August. The incident occurred at the speedboat ramp, along Jomtien Beach Road. Rescue services from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation rushed to the scene following reports of a serious injury involving a tractor. Upon arrival, rescue personnel found Mr. Monrak Kaewngam, the driver of the tractor responsible for hauling speedboats in and out of the sea, lying unconscious and struggling to breathe. He had sustained severe chest trauma and was bleeding profusely from the mouth. Emergency responders provided immediate first aid before transporting him to Hospital. Investigations at the scene revealed that a blue tractor had surged forward unexpectedly, colliding with a private ambulance on standby nearby for a rowing competition. The force of the impact shattered the ambulance’s front bumper and headlights. According to eyewitness accounts, the victim had started the tractor engine and attempted to inspect the gearbox, which appeared to be malfunctioning. Without switching off the engine, he climbed down and looked beneath the vehicle. Suddenly, the tractor lurched forward with force, crushing him entirely beneath its wheels. It then continued on, smashing into the parked ambulance before coming to a halt as the engine stalled. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. Crime Coffee Vendor Arrested After Fatally Shooting Loan Shark
Picture courtesy of Naewna A coffee vendor has been arrested following a police chase after he allegedly shot dead a loan shark who insulted his family while demanding repayment of a debt. The incident occurred on 6 August in Bang Khla district, Chachoengsao province, and quickly led to a manhunt that ended over 20 kilometres away on a highway in Nakhon Ratchasima. The suspect, Mr Wayu 40, was captured by officers from the Highway Police Division under the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), with a .38-calibre revolver and 27 rounds of ammunition found in his possession. According to police reports, Mr Wayu, who operates a small coffee business, became enraged during a debt collection dispute when the creditor, Mr Praphon, allegedly insulted his parents. In a fit of rage, Wayu pulled out a revolver and shot the creditor dead on Ratchadapisek Road in Bang Khla. He then fled the scene in a silver Toyota Corolla Altis without a license plate, heading towards the northeast via Highway 304. Upon receiving reports of the shooting, Highway Police from Subdivision 6 (Region 1) coordinated a rapid response operation. Surveillance and patrol units tracked the suspect’s route toward Nakhon Ratchasima via bypass Highway 290. The suspect vehicle was spotted near kilometre marker 93 in Chaiyamongkol subdistrict, where police attempted to intercept. Wayu, however, refused to stop, triggering a high-speed pursuit. Officers were finally able to block and force the suspect’s vehicle to a stop. Inside the car, police found both Wayu and his girlfriend, along with the firearm used in the murder. He was immediately taken into custody and sent for gunpowder residue testing, before being handed over to Bang Khla police for further investigation. During initial questioning, Wayu confessed to the murder, admitting that he was angered by the victim’s verbal abuse regarding his family. He stated that he acted out of rage and humiliation. After the shooting, he removed the vehicle’s plates and attempted to flee authorities but was eventually intercepted and arrested without further incident. Wayu now faces multiple charges, including: 1. Murder 2. Illegal possession and carrying of a firearm and ammunition in public 3. Discharging a firearm in a public space Police praised the coordination between divisions that led to the quick apprehension of the suspect. Adapted by Asean Now from Naewna 2025-08-08 -

Report Hollywood Blockbusters Put Thai Films Under Pressure
My Mrs won't go to see Thai films, in her words they are crap. The last good one I saw was monrak transistor in 2003. Too many very poor horror films or comedies that are not remotely funny, that always seem to have ladyboys in them.
