Christie and Fiorina pull out of Republican race

USA -- Two more Republican candidates have dropped out of the race for president. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is the latest to end his bid after finishing a poor sixth in the New Hampshire primary, raising doubts about his viability as a candidate.

Christie joins former HP executive Carly Fiorina, who has also left the race, announcing her departure on Facebook. Fiorina had shot to prominence after a series of strong debate performances, but then faded quickly. There are now only seven Republicans standing.

How do voters view the race?

Both Democrat Bernie Sanders and Republican Donald Trump scored decisive wins in New Hampshire – both inflicting double digit defeats on their nearest rivals. Unlike Sanders, its now unclear who is Trump’s main challenger..

What does seem certain is that Americans are bracing themselves for a political shake up after the two outsiders ran away with the country’s first primary on Tuesday.

“I think it’s a very scary prospect, either one of them being president of the United States,” said one voter. “ One is an ignorant demagogue and the other is a socialist who doesn’t understand the slightest thing about finances. It’s a very scary proposition”.

Another tried to explain the situation: “I think it says that the American public is very disgruntled with the current political process and they’ll accept any alternative to it — even if it’s one that goes against their best interests.”

But it is early days in the race to become a presidential nominee – there is even time for independent candidates such as former New York mayor, Michael Bloomberg to join in. But in the mean time the next stop is South Carolina for the Republicans and Nevada for the Democratic party and anything could happen.

Chris Christie's greatest moment as an American probably came when he revealed Rubio for what he is, a little boy.

Chrisie is too stupid and too chicken*hit to attack Trump, which might have helped him personally. He got lucky with Rubio, but it did not help his own numbers at all.

Christie was a suicide bomber on Robotio Repeatio Rubio. He took himself out too, but then he really was already out of the running.

There are now only seven Republicans standing.

I guess "only" means different things to different people. The race to the bottom continues.

Good move….leave the nomination to the loonies, Trump and Cruz

Were they even still running? Judging by their self delusion that they even had a chance, they deserved to lose, badly.

As for the other 6 Republicans running against the Donald, do they have any chance? The only show in town has been Trump and without publicity the rest will fade away. Still, 2 primaries do not a nominee make

However, all good for me and a few others on TV as we will be able to see the tears and pain of those that hate Trump 555555555555555555555555.

It's been interesting to note that whatever s*** the opposition heap on the Donald, he still carries on regardless. Now the haters have been reduced to accusing him of drinking diet soda .
