Teacher traveled to Thailand for sex tourism, feds say

MOBILE, AL: -- A Conecuh County computer teacher bragged in emails for more than a decade about traveling to Thailand to have sex with boys, according to a federal criminal complaint.

"I plan to go back this summer to my residence place, where I am assured many friends, past and present await," Clarence Edward Evers Jr. wrote in March, the complaint states. He noted that he had been with one of his friends from 9 to 15, using Thai to spell the numbers.

Evers, 52, was arrested on Thursday morning at Hillcrest High School in Evergreen, authorities said. He taught information technology classes at the school.

Evers has not been charged with any crime. He is due in court for a detention hearing and preliminary detention hearing at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the U.S. District Courthouse in Mobile.

Albeit Thailand is known for its sex industry. This guy needs to be behind bars. Seeing kids is a crime no matter where it is done. The fact that he is a teacher makes it all the worse. Yes but the issue in this case is not a bit of 'compensated' horizontal folk dancing, rather the age of the alleged victims: 9 to 15. Not a nice man if it's true.

Boasting is a common trait among these guys. In his mind it's like he won the lottery, he can't just keep quiet about it, it's about reliving the experience. Thus they are quite easy to spot, as some sort of 'underage' reference will keep coming up in conversation.

US teacher allegedly travelled to Thailand for child sex

BANGKOK: -- Clarence Edward Evers Jr, a computer teacher at a high school in Alabama, was arrested on Thursday morning for various child pornography offences and for travelling to a foreign country with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.

He is said to have visited Thailand regularly over the past decade to have sex with boys, and repeatedly bragged about these misdeeds over email, according to AL.com.

The emails reportedly date back as far as 2004 and many are graphic in their descriptions.

In 2014, Evers confided in one email about recent related prosecutions in Thailand, saying “I still plan to go this summer, but I definitely have to rethink my playtime strategy. It sure seems more apparent every day that we were there at a very good time in history, and that those good times are exactly that: history.”

The investigation into Evers is huge, reports WKRG News, and has been over a year in the making, starting back at the end of 2014 when US Homeland Security received a tip-off from an attaché regarding the sexual abuse of a minor in Bangkok.

How can a child make such a decision as to agree to having sex with a old man. Mentally and physically they are not fully developed. So it is rape even if the kid agreed. Especially in Asia and Thailand were they seem to be mentally immature even in their 20s and 30a for some.

There is no need for Thailand to pursue this guy. The US Feds will use his emails or other online records to convict him. Probable sentence 5 to 10 in a Federal sleep-away camp.

You must know some "secret spot" on the Pattaya foreshore as I have walked along it many times at most hours of the night and I have yet to see any obviously underage hooker of either sex selling themselves there. If there are underage boys selling themselves it is more likely to be at a certain plaza, or by private arrangement, probably with the parents or relatives, or else with street kids.

I think the issue is the age of his "friends" and the fact that he is in daily contact with students in the US.
