snoop1130
Phuket Governor demands investigation into security memo leakKongleaphy Keam PHUKET: -- Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada has demanded an investigation into the leaking of an internal memo that sparked concerns of an island-wide security boost, amid rumors that a group of trouble makers were planning unrest in the province.Governor Chamroen was forced to allay panic among Phuketians after news spread on social media that he had written to local security forces asking them to prepare for possible unrest in the province.“This was an internal memo that was not meant for public dissemination. There is no cause for concern whatsoever. The point of the memo was simply to ensure that security forces are prepared to quickly respond to whatever situations may arise, especially as Phuket is an international tourist destination,” said Gov Chamroen.Full Story: http://www.phuketgazette.net/phuket-news/Phuket-Governor-demands-investigation-security-memo-leak/63169?desktopversion -- Phuket Gazette 2016-02-

klauskunkel
The point of the memo was simply to ensure that security forces are prepared to quickly respond to whatever situations may arise And the point of the above statement is to showcase the every day state of responsiveness by security forces, who need a fake memo of a terrorist threat to stop playing video games and on-line chatting whilst on duty. dageurreotype
The governor confirmed that he had received word suggesting the possibility that certain people may intend to cause unrest in Phuket. What 'certain people' exactly? I think we should be told. Can hardly rely on the authorities to protect us from certain 'certain people' can we
Nobb
This security leak should not be a problem at all. It sound like the Governor is trying to make himself look good with the press clippings to show what a great job he is doing. The only leak is from him but this should be in affect every day if he does his job to make Phuket safe. So sad to see a man such as he as a Governor!
