27-day overstay - problem getting another tourist visa?

Featured Replies

A friend of mine recently overstayed his tourist visa by 27 days. He had no problems coming back in to Thailand from Pedang Besar, Songkhla to start the second tourist visa (he got a double-entry in Vientiane), and now he plans on applying for an extension in Hat Yai. He's had several tourist visas over the past few years, in addition to one or two non-immigrant B visas from previous teaching jobs. Will the extension be a problem? Also, could he have problems getting another tourist visa in the region because of the overstay? Thanks.

People with much longer overstays have gotten extensions and visas without a problem.

I just went over the border in Knong Kai with 26 days overstay. I paid the 13,000baht fine and the gave me another 90 days with my APEC card, no problems.
