February 18, 201610 yr Hi, I would like to confirm whether this is possible on weekdays - take the first flight to Udon Thani - arrive 7:30am - go as fast as possible to Thai consulate and apply for visa - pick up the visa next day - take the last flight to BKK - departure 9:30pm Thank you!
February 18, 201610 yr It can be done. You would have 4 hours to get to the consular section if you arrive at 7:30. Then you would have 8 hours to make your flight from 1:30 pm when they open for passport pickup.
February 18, 201610 yr You could consider an earlier flight back if you don't care to spend any time. 18:35h (Nok), 18:50h (AirAsia) to Don Mueang 19:35h (ThaiSmile) to Suvarnabhumi Be careful with NokAir due to their current trouble.
February 18, 201610 yr Author 18:35h (Nok), 18:50h (AirAsia) to Don Mueang Is it enough time to get back to the airport?
February 18, 201610 yr 18:35h (Nok), 18:50h (AirAsia) to Don Mueang Is it enough time to get back to the airport? You would have plenty of time to get to the airport in Udon even if you did not get your passport back until 3pm if the line was long.
February 18, 201610 yr OP you can make it. Get taxi airport straight to centra plaza. Minibus to border. Grab taxi to consulate. Do not get tuk tuk. Avoid one of the days being a Monday or Friday.
February 19, 201610 yr It CAN be done if everything goes smoothly. However , just one glitch can throw your timings out. The major issue is the getting there in time rather than the getting back. If you miss the cut off time to lodge your application it means an extra nights stay to lodge the next day . You would hope that the first flight out of swampy for the day would not be late ......................but T I T . At Udon Thani, I believe there is a mini bus service direct to border, or as said above .............taxi to central plaza and mini bus from there. Exit Thailand is usually fast, onto bus over bridge............arrive Laos immigration. Thats where it could slow down--depending how busy they are. But it gives you a chance to meet others and maybe arrange a taxi share direct to consulate.
February 19, 201610 yr The major issue is the getting there in time rather than the getting back. That's the point. The very first flight with NokAir, departing 5:55h, arriving 7:00h was in time over the last 5 days incl. today. Seems they were not affected by the trouble at NokAir. For LionAir (6:20 - 7:25) there is no information available.
February 19, 201610 yr Also if u show the embassy your flight details you will be one of the first to get your passport back
February 19, 201610 yr An extra day in little Paris (Vientiane)can be very joyful take your time if you can
