What Happened To Mobile Phone Registration ?

Featured Replies

Last year , when I was last in LOS , I read of a new procedure

where :

1) ID would have to be produced when purchasing a SIM card.

2) Ditto for existing numbers or service would be suspended.

The procedure wa obviously never implemented because I

bought a SIM in a 7/11 without amy ID.

Today , again , I read of bombs being detonated in the south

using mobile phones.

What happened ?

:o

IIRC At about the time that "unregistered" phones were to be cut off the powers that be decided that it wasn't about to disconnect something like 75% of Thai mobiles. It all died the death.

I registered mine in Carrefour in Pattaya and saw a thread later where someone, who works there, was saying they had a big stack of forms just collecting dust. Not being collected
