Cambodia and Thailand are set to have a new international border crossing on National Road 5, linking Banteay Meanchey province and Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province.

The deal was reached after Thailand agreed to provide $26.5 million to build border crossing facilities at Stung Bot and an access road linking these to National Road 5.

The new border crossing facility will boost both trade and the flow of people between the two countries, according to statement by the Ministry of Economy and Finance signed last Friday by officials from both countries.
