CDC believes framework of new draft charter will be accepted by all

BANGKOK, 25 February 2016 (NNT) – The Constitution Drafting Commission believes that the new draft charter will be accepted by the people and all parties.

CDC member Thitipan Chuaboonchai, who is the chairman of the subcommittee on the collection of public opinions, on Wednesday delivered a speech at the first seminar on “the new draft Constitution and the National Reform” which discussed the public and government administration, the political institutions and the courts — organized by the King Prajadhipok’s Institute.

Mr. Thitipan said that the CDC has laid down a 15-point framework for the charter drafting to help it earn acceptance from all.

He said that the charters drafters have, for instance, set conditions which demand the Constitution to be precise, concise and easy to understand while recognizing rights and freedom of the people of Thailand, as well as a stringent probe into all corruption activities.

Mr. Thitipan went on to say that, based on previous public forums across the country, it appeared that the public is not holding the same understanding about the political reform efforts as the government and the CDC.

This is the base of their problems. Unfortunately those in the padded seats are not listening.

Who is this guy trying to kid. Nothing is ever accepted by everybody. The best you can hope for is a majority. And most times even that is hard to get.

CDC: It's good, trust me.

Random: Meh?

CDC: It's good again, trust me.

Random: Wait what?

CDC: I said it's good, framework is the best thing ever.

Random: But there is someth..

CDC: I said it's good, shut up already, why can't you understand it?

Random: I've been trying to pose a question for clarification, and probably need an attitute adjustment, but it's good I guess.

CDC: Yes it's good.

That's like the headlines I keep reading Oo

If he really believes what he is saying, then he inhabits a different planet to most sane people.

In fact if he really believed what he is saying he should be locked up in a mental asylum, not being involved in drafting a Constitution.

It is a fact of life in Thailand, that the people at the top have lived lifes of such privelage and ass licking, that they have little or no understanding of the lifes of ordinary Thai persons.

I guess these people don't pay attention to the news or go out and talk to people in the street.

I have yet to hear any ordinary people actually say if they don't like - why

I have heard politicians and political activists mouthing off some nonsense but then that is to be expected since they are the people it affects the most - a good sign in my opinion

Are any of these people educated, middle class schmoes ? If it is a bunch if inbred elites, than why would anyone trust it, given that most cannot be trusted. Reconciliation has not taken place at all. The coup was just a bad idea.

the charters drafters have, for instance, set conditions which demand the Constitution to be precise, concise and easy to understand

But when all is done and said, a constitution is not a special medicine nor a formula to fix Thailand’s problems. Prayut on 2016-01-07

So no better than before the coup.

yeah, like sayin' how undemocratic it is and then pointing out concrete examples...

"Nonsense" and "Mouthing off".....

you my son ? lol

well yes I am probably 20 years you junior and smart....and I love rude awakenings ....tell me more

or better still - don't bother

I like what the current PM is doing - he has set himself a task which no past government in Thailand was intersted in doing - I give him a chance to prove his salt, he has messed up a few times and I have been very criticle of that but generally I think he means well.............3rd world on a path to 2nd world.....maybe

It doesn't really matter - he seems to be doing mostly the t right thing
