Sometimes I wonder if reading and engaging in this forum is just a waste of time. A lot of it (including a lot of what I myself have thrown in) is total frivalous crap. I know I have more constructive things that I could be doing, but for some reason I am drawn back to it.

On the other hand, there is also a wealth of information on visas, immigration, investment advice, ect.. Oh well, see you tomorrow.

Yes it is a complete waste of time.... but also strangely addictive and a font of information.

I don't even have to go to the bar now to hear 'Bar room lawyers' it's all here!

Hurrah!

I agree...why should we mess about posting rubbish on the Thai.visa forum when we could be shagging our wives or girlfriends or reading a good book? However...I am sure that George and dr PP have archives and shall produce a compendium entitled 'Expat Angst on a SE Asia chat forum'...'Fear and Loathing in SE Asia: the Psychopathology of chat forum mania'...and, from the juicier bits 'A Masturbator's Guide to Thailand'

there shall be rave reviews, functions at expensive hotels in BKK and whisperings regarding a possible Nobel Prize for literature describing the drunken abuse and broken dreams of displaced white men in SE Asia emanating from a chat line in Thailand.

Well...we won't let them get away with it...are we not men?

way to much time, definately!

It is addictive, as it should be, there is so much info on this site - where to get good pies in Bangkok, Erics recipe for perfect felatio, Joncron looking for a farang bird, how to cook a steak - its endless entertainment :o

Not to mention the endless conspiracy theories that abound... :D

Why not? Beats doing those "honey-do"'s the strife has for me.

Beside, the beer is cheaper at home than at a bar and I don't have to worry about getting busted for driving home drunk.

On a positive note, it does improve ones typing skills (if not their English).

Oh, you know, clipping stray nasal hair, clipping finger and toe nails, making sure my teeth are brushed; that sort of stuff.

While I'm still here for another month. I will enjoy my daily "information load" from sage warriors. A different approach.. I tire of endless do gooders from the NGOs, the GO, the missionaries....no that mercenaries....

The quick information hits are good... The rest.. well it is the same and fullfills.

Catching the set.. high speed low drag gents :o

I know I have more constructive things that I could be doing, but for some reason I am drawn back to it.

Many of those constructive things turn out to be a waste of time as well, so it seems.

Lately, it is difficult to distinguish between what is a waste of time and what is not.

Probably just some mental disorder or too much time spent at the Biergarten..

Ai, it's all relative isn't it? I like collecting stamps from around the world and my wife thinks it's a sh*t waste of my time.

Well Dr PP an Kev, I dont know how I coped prior to my deepened knowledge of skid marks in b/g undies. It has surely increased my understanding of the world and it's politics.

Alos, other invaluable threads on the forum are such as : guys who cant find pieces of female anatomy; the intricaciies of nose picking and other bodily like functions; interesting findings unkown previously to science - of guys who bed wet through their heads ..... geesus...and many other gems of philosophy.

Its definitely not a waste of time for me as it helps me get through my working day !! :o

You know, long time ago i was very into posting on online forums. I spent hours reading/posting, then became so caught up in work that i stopped for another long time. But somehow, you need that balance ...doing something else in between. So why not post on forums? I dont see it as a waste of time unless you spend dall day on it.

I post and read because I am sitting at work waiting for computers to break. If they don't break then I don't do anything. Maybe when I get to Thailand I will find something better to do.

Are you going to pay me? :o Actually I need to get a job that involves girls giving me money and buying me stuff. I think that would be the perfect job for me.

It's nice to be part of something. I didn't really fit in on my other forum which was for Madness fans - all they talked about was 80's confectionary, what their favourite TV programme was and wheather Our House was better than House Of Fun and anything mildly controversial would be deleted by the moderator who I met once and she was very two faced and the sort of farang girl we try to escape from - I could tell what she was thinking when I told her I lived in Thailand.

They all think Suggs is a god and are afraid to tackle any proper discussions and any humour on the site is all pre-watershed, BBC family harmless innuendo. I don't miss it, I was spending all my time trying to get members out of their shells but I was wasting my time. I really feel part of something here though, I'm among like minded people.

Also; by typing what I just have I will be almost on 100 posts, how cool is that?

It's also nice when your post gets a reply, sometimes you can feel a right <deleted> if you've typed a lot and no one has responded. :o

Do you get that a lot :D
