Two South Koreans nabbed for robbing their countrymen

BANGKOK: -- Two South Korean expatriates were arrested by Thai police for allegedly robbing four South Korean tourists during December and February.

The two suspects, identified as Kim Chae Young and Nam Kyoung Ku, were nabbed at a rented room at an apartment in Sukhumvit Soi 64 together with a car.

The arrest of the two South Koreans was disclosed at a press conference held today by Pol Lt-Gen Thitirath Nongharnpitak, commissioner of Central Investigation Bureau in the company of an official from the South Korean embassy.

The commissioner said tourist police had received complaints from four South Korean tourists that they were separately robbed by their own compatriots. The incidents took place on December 24, January 8, 17 and February 24.

According to the accounts given by the victims, the two suspects would approach their would-be victims via the social media and then would offer to be their guides during their stay in Thailand. Once the victims were taken out for sightseeings, the two would rob the victims, threatening them with a knife.

Having examined video footages at the scenes of the robberies and scenes where the victims were picked up for sightseeings, police managed to track down the suspects and make the arrest.

We don't trust the news. Where are the pointing fingers police team ? gigglem.gif

if they really did catch them that way, then you have to say well done, not the usual thai cops dont care about farrangs.

this is what I like to see a good result and good police work and 2 villains off the street keep up the good work.

Wow amazing police work. Yet when a Thai steals from work place, and company has their ID cards and everything else , police unable or unwilling to arrest them.
