alansiporin
I would like to convert some Word documents to PDF format. Are there reliable, free programs that do this? Would rather not pay to upgrade my Adobe Reader. Thanks for any ideas
ubonjoe
The latest versions of Windows has "Microsoft Print to PDF" on the printer selection. I use Kingsoft office (free) and it has the option to convert to PDF option.

Do a "Save as" and look at the drop-down list of file types you can save as... Even OpenOffice has an "Export to PDF" option. I must admit I never used it. I use the "Foxit Reader" (printer driver). PDF is pretty cool, because it works brilliant with MS windows office. alansiporin
Thanks everybody. I found the Nitro website and it worked well. I also found PDF option from the Word "save as". Thanks again
KittenKong
LibreOffice/OpenOffice handle pdf format natively and also allow you to edit the pdf directly, which none of the other tools mentioned does as far as I know.
JaseTheBass
You can also download and use Adobe CS2 licence free. This has Adobe Acrobat which is a PDF maker/editor.
