Which one should I choose in Central BKK? Csloxinfo or True?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! :)

This if for an apartment in central Bangkok. They offer either Csloxinfo 32/6 or True (Which they just installed and is supposed to be Fiber), I think they had two plans, like 30/3 and 50/6.

Which one would you choose if its important that I can make international Skype calls and overall have a fast internet?

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

I have no experience of Cs. But I had True docsis and it was terrible. This was in the Western suburbs.. Day time I had 17/2 on a 30/3 connection. After 8pm it would vary from 2.5/0.7 up to about 5/1.2. That was international to HK on speedtest.net.

I now have 3BB 30/3 FIBER. And get 32/3.2 to the same server any time of the day (fluctuates slightly)

Any chance of talking to other residents of building? They will be most likely to know which performs best.

I thought CS Loxinfo had gone the way of the floppy drive.

The things is that True is new in the building so nobody really has it yet.

questions to ask TRUE. How many subscribers are going to be on the same connection box? I believe but i may be wrong that true do the shared Fiber as do 3bb but 3bb will tell you how many connections per box. Mine is fourth of four. So there is a direct Fiber line to just outside my moobaan, then there are 4 Fiber lines from there to each house in the moobaan. I'm about 120metres from the box.. Furthest house would be about 300m.

Ok thank you.

I just got told they actually have AIS 50/20 as well. Anyone have any experience with them?

Anything but true if you have a choice....

Sometimes my true is so slow it stutters to open a page

I switch to 4g and boom, the page just opens in a flash...

IF they have AIS then go with that. I have no experience but a couple of friends say it's good. Certainly better than TRUE. AIS also do 20/10(I think)

Go for True. Loxinfo is rubbish at least that was my finding others may differ.

It is called "Contention Ratio" and should be 12 or less

Over the years, here is the order I assign:

1) 3BB Fiber

2) 3BB DSL

3) AIS

4) True

5) everyone else

It seems that 3BB has the best international connections, although I think they are getting a little too popular as of late.

True Internet goes down often as does True Visions. Cant say much about CSLox as I never used them.

Are you so poor that you cannot pay 2 Internet ? Easier than choosing without knowing and having a chance to know anything !

It is tempting to say True purely on the basis they are the well known and 'dynamic' ISP.

(Do they also supply cable TV and telephone line in the apartments)

Although if you added 3BB as an option I would jump for that one!

Its a yearly contracts and not so easy to break... Its not just about the money or I would have ditched true already myself but do you really suggest the op buys a year of both packages to compare them?? :)

Would you buy two new cars to see which one you like better after a months driving?

:)

Ridiculous to compare the 1000 thb of internet with a car... (especially knowing the price of the car I drive :-) )

Yes, smart people stop thinking about so useless things and just get 1 of each package available.

I have all the internet providers available where I live and you never see me crying that my Internet is down, many on this forum should do this also...

Oh yes, incredible, I pay almost 5000 for my Internet every month !!!

I pay 1,200b. WHY because like the OP I did due diligence.. I will possibly get a second Internet provider as a backup and to use as a general WiFi for visitors etc.. But I certainly don't need three or four providers especially if one is crap (TRUE)

Unfortunately in my building we don't have the full optiins or I would get another provider (but not all 5 lol)

Cable is very close so I imagine it will be available to us soon
