I am currently on a non B valid till march 21. My passport is valid until sept 19 this year. I don't want to extend the non B as i am leaving thailand for my home country around April 4th. I requested new passport at ambassy, but the new passport will only arrive around march 24.

If i am leaving thailand on current passport without reentry stamp and come back in before march 19th (passport still valid for 6 month), do i get the 30 days exempt? (Is enough for me to get out around April 4th) And can i move that exempt stamp to my new passport at immigration? Any other documents needed for that?

Thanks for advice or confirmation on this.

Kind regards

You can get a visa exempt entry without a problem.

You will only need to show both passports on departure from the country. They will transfer your entry stamp to the new one and stamp you out of the country in it.

Thank you for your reply Ubonjoe.

But my visa is valid only until the 21st march, while my new passport only arrives around 24th. So i will have to leave on only my "old passport". In fact before 19th, to return into thailand 19th latest (as passport needs min 6 month valid).

The 2nd line in my post was for you leaving after you get your new passport.

You do not need 6 months remaining on your passport. Since you are from a country that qualifies for a visa exempt entry you only need a passport valid for your length of stay to enter Thailand. But you do need 6 months to enter any nearby country.
