Selling off old tyres

Lazy Sunday afternoon question..........just replaced the tires on my Vigo,

the missus insisted on keeping the old tires which she says she can sell,

curious to know what the spot market price is on a bunch of old treads.

I would imagine it would depend on the condition, how much tread left on them etc. Don't know how anyone could give an evaluation with so little information.

Why you don't ask your wife then, since she can sell them she must have a price in mind.

They keep the tyres to sell for scrap or as my wife has done before turned the big truck tyres into planters there is a guy near us who does this.

Practically nothing for that age and mileage. They can't be used again as they are knackered:) I could barely get 400 baht for my tires when I turned them after 40K kms and less than 3 years old. Just enjoy your new tires:)

" Only" 70.000 Kms?

I'm happy if I ever get 50.000 Kms on my truck. The last 4 sets on 2 different trucks all did only 50K before I had to replace them, and I've had Goodrich, Good Year, Dunlop and now firestone. I think the last set will even not last 50K.

the idea....insisted she offloaded them with a cousin

to deal with before we even got home.

I had Bridgestone on my Spivo only change them because they were over 6 year old.

The dealer offered to buy them for 500bt each. Jumped at that 2,000bt in beer tokens. What the Buddha would I do with 4 half worn tyres cluttering up the house anyway.

She was laughing and told me that I said that I would be satisfied with 300 baht, so the 900 was hers. What could I say? I got what I asked.

I doubt they will be too dangerous on a rot Issan, although I think it is a 14 HP so maybe pretty fast.

Old tires with 70000 Km on it, are a very good replacement for 20 bath planters.

if they are 345/30/20 in size I'd be keen on them to use for mock-up on my Ranger.
